Gay Men Dos and Donts, Raw & Unedited

Posted in Fashion, Gossip Galore, Now We Know, Reads, Uncategorized on June 19, 2012 by touchofsuave

So I haven’t spoken to Masi in a long while, I woke up sick and about to give up on life, the flue and fashion, wondering what I’m going to wear to the doctor today…there came Masi *death*

WARNING: THIS IS RAW & UNEDITED

@Masi_Tee:
What happened to being stylish, wearing the right gear for the right occasion, what happened to decency? Why are gays dressing trashy now @ThabyLed:
I dare you the bank balances aren’t too friendly at the moment, it’s winter and trench coats aren’t the usual R120 Mr Price skinny jeans. Lmao, good question though. @Masi_Tee:
Exactly. And besides that. Like a lot of gay abuse the 2cm shorts hey. Those are meant for holiday resorts, pool parties, boat cruises etc. Not for clubs or the malls @ThabyLed:
And they tend to forget we all aren’t lean enough for shorts, yes they may look brilliant on super skinny girls but when they’re on a super skinny MALE, damn, you’d swear they’re super-dried biltong. @Masi_Tee:
Exactly. And babe gays need to know the difference between EVERYDAY clothing and special OCCASSION clothing. What they’re doing basically. Is like you waking up and rocking a 3piece suit, cufflinks, waistcoats and ties and all and go to the nearest supermarket and buy bread, and go visit friends in that suit and party in it. See my point? @ThabyLed:
My point EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Masi_Tee:
After you did your photo shoot I showed those pics to my friend. And we both agreed on something. There’s nothing as refreshing as seeing a gay guy looking stylish and DECENT. Be gay yes, and be over imaginative but always look DECENT. And in that way, straight guys will wanna be like you and actually appreciate YOU as a person. Because you’re not looking like a 2nd hand g-string @ThabyLed:
I’ve seen people rocking up in night-time clothing for cocktail parties held on broad daylights, thing is they wanna outdo girls and that’s highly impossible. I mean girls are lean, smooth and their genes are nothing like ours, why friggin COMPETE? @ThabyLed:
Death by second hand g-string… You’re on point about that, I’ve seen your dress sense as well, it’s not that we want to be ‘liked’ by straight men or anything, but you really can’t expect to be dressed in girl’s clothing and expect for people to not outcast you. I have a lot of straight male friends who know exactly who I am, my family knows, the community knows, but I do not rub it in their faces by trading vests for tank tops, shirts for skirts, no, I AM STILL A MAN!!!!!!!! @ThabyLed:
I blame the Bonang’s and Rihanna’s for making trash look fab and misleading their fag-base @ThabyLed
Oops I meant FAN
@ThabyLed:
Then followed fags with ‘a touch’ of their own to those outfits, yet again trying to ‘outdo’ the actual girls. @Masi_Tee:
Exactly my babe. Look at Chuck Bass for example. He rocks ‘slut shorts’ like nobody’s business but in the right manner. The only time I wear a bright colored Golfer tee is when I’m wearing short shorts, and I’ll put on a nice pair of shades, and cool boat shoes, and I’ll be at a summer house party somewhere sipping cocktails with my girls and enjoying life, and that to me is GAY FABOLOUSity. And the moment they say “let’s go out” I jump in go look decent for the public. I mean if I can afford two good outfits in one night, why not @Masi_Tee:
I also blame YDE =))
@ThabyLed:
See? That’s what living fabulous is all about, and yet again it’s not a matter of affording babe, if you understand ‘STYLE’ and don’t follow ‘FASHION’ it’ll forever be in you to keep up with looking good at a low cost. If I can’t afford the latest trendy boots why buy them? Instead I can settle for the loafers or rather lace-ups that I rock mercilessly! Thabiso seeing Masi in a blazer and shorts doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a good look for Thabiso either. Cloning is another factor in this. @Masi_Tee:
YES that’s so true ke hey and one thing about me, I don’t buy price or trends. And my typa affordability doesn’t mean 5000 shoes NO. And manyani people must rather go for what suits them. And everytime I see a group of gays, I never see the difference between them and a group of girls wearing leopard print dresses because they’re all copy cats. And we both know how unattractive though leopard print girls are. @ThabyLed:
It’s sad really, I mean look at Chuck Bass and Kanye West, top notch. @Masi_Tee:
Exactly. And then there’s vintage -_____-. Hayi people are doing it wrong nje. And its sad @ThabyLed:
Same shit they did with colour-blocking? I mean the whole concept of it was a total mess… X_X my dear Lord! @Masi_Tee:
Duuuuuuude. Mess yomhlaba. =)) a lot of people in SA messed it up hey @ThabyLed:
How do you mix colours of different pellets? 😦 why didn’t they just research

P.S: Tomorrow we tackle well groomed men.

Thoughts Of A Man On Cheating Men

Posted in Uncategorized on June 18, 2012 by touchofsuave

‘Baby, you know I love you right?’ what he actually means is ‘I have done something and you might find out about it’ that in a nutshell is a mere example of men in this day and age.

When you find out you’re cheated on, about to be cheated on, your whole life just spiral down to your inner child, you become vulnerable, feel worthless, ask yourself many questions with no answers. It’s been said that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, a cliche right?! True, but how many people have you crossed paths with and have gone through major breakups? Exactly, they didn’t let themselves be defined by where they came from, instead they bettered themselves into making their exes label them ‘That one I ones loved’

I watched ‘Think Like A Man’ it was an eye-opener to witness what measures men do take in order to make their way into the ‘cookie jar’ and how the highly intellectual women of our age become complete morons all in the name of LOVE! But this is a story for another day.

When we’re hurt in a relationship of any kind we tend to make statements that generalise an entire community. “All men are liars” a gay victim of infidelity might say. “All women are cheaters” a straight man might add. “All gay men are home wreckers” a straight female might say in response to her DL boyfriend.

It’s extremely difficult to isolate each incident of infidelity. It takes time, sometimes years, to recover from a relationship in which trust is broken. But when it comes down to it, each individual should be held accountable for his or her actions.

Let me point out the obvious, I think the operative question is why do ‘people’ cheat? I know many straight people would love to know why their partner has cheated. Cheating is sadly a universal trait that is not specific to sexual orientation.

Of course, I have no intentions of trying to lessen the pain of infidelity, but it’s important, as I have stated, not to make assumptions that all or even most men are cheaters or liars. This can lead down a spiraling bitter and jaded path that can block you from finding or even giving an actual faithful man a chance.

A friend of mine sees the reality and the possibilities of the situation, “Honey, for every bad person or cheater in this world there are good people out there. You may feel cheated on and lied to but stay focus and redefine those things about yourself that make you happy. Love thy self. Some people (cheaters) never change while others change. Listen to your gut feeling. There is so much more to life. I have been there and I am a witness.”

Whether you choose to stay or go, it is all upto you. Just remember to put yourself first, love is a two way street, rolling over and playing dead for someone who’s on the receiving end is a complete NO!!!

One key which was lost by many is called COMMUNICATION, how it opens many doors, you’d swear it’s the master-key, followed by TRUST then HONESTY. Those are my personal ingredients to a better, healthier and successful relationship, if all else fails, don’t give up, keep waiting for love, let if find you and when it does, love the next like you were never heartbroken before. You’re heartbroken NOT broken.

I’d often tell my friends “You do not need a man to make you feel good about yourself, happiness resides in you to the outside” and now I’m sharing this with you.

Best Cover Songs Of All Time & The Death Of Musical Talent

Posted in Celebrities, Gossip Galore, Keeping Up With The Carters, Music, Uncategorized on June 7, 2012 by touchofsuave

Artists frequently cover each other’s songs but very rarely do these updated versions become classics in their own right. However, as you will see in today’s post, where occasions were cover songs match or even outshine the original compositions.

Naturally, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey are both ranked among the artists with classic cover songs. Yet, there might be a very surprise hits on this list that will take you on a trip down memory lane and even surprise you that they are covers. Here they are below:

‘Without You’
Original : Badfinger
Cover : Mariah Carey

‘He Loves Me’
Original : Jill Scott
Cover : Beyonce

‘Sex Is On Fire’
Original : Kings Of Leon
Cover : Beyonce

‘At Last’
Original : Etta James
Cover : Beyonce

‘Proud Mary’
Original : Creedence Clearwater Revival
Cover : Ike & Tina Turner

‘I Will Always Love You’
Original : Dolly Parton
Cover : Whitney Houston

‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’
Original : Jennifer Holliday
Cover : Jennifer Hudson

‘This Woman’s Work’
Original : Kate Bush
Cover : Maxwell

‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’
Original : Marvin Gaye & Tami Terrell
Cover : Diana Ross

The key to crafting a solid cover is to bring something fresh to the arrangement and make it your own. Many artists simply perform basic karaoke and fall flat when compared to their predecessors, yes Rihanna for instance. That’s why so many of the popular television talent show contestants fail to have successful careers after their series’ have ended – they are just good singers and not true artists. Only Kelly Clarkson is still a force to be reckoned with till now and still reigns.

Is there anybody missing from this list of best original and cover songs?

On a lighter note..

Beyonce sprung back into action at the first show of her Revel Beach comeback concert series at Ovation Hall in Atlantic City! However, instead of repeating her usual setlist, the diva included surprise tributes to Lauryn Hill and the late Whitney Houston.

To honor Houston, Beyonce performed a rendition of the true legend’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ as part of a medley with ‘Halo’. She also sang Lauryn Hill’s ‘Ex-Factor’ before launching into her own emotional song ‘Flaws & All’. Now what was that about lacking creativity?

Gaga Goes Sophisticated

Posted in Uncategorized on June 7, 2012 by touchofsuave

I can’t help but notice how the peplum dress has made a huge comeback this season, and who better to do justice to it other than Lady Gaga herself?!
She looked downright haute on her arrival at Auckland (NOT Park, JHB lol) Stamford Plaza Hotel, New Zealand yesterday..

..Where she has braved a storm of protests, threats and picket lines during her Born This Way Ball tour of Asia over the past few months, but she hasn’t let that stop her from her from completing her last few dates in New Zealand. Though, while she may have looked the very picture of strength in this orange peplum picture, Gaga’s pal Elton John has voiced his concerns over the singer’s health.”She is frail, and she doesn’t eat when she should do, and she’s a girl, and it’s tougher for a girl,” he told a daily newspaper.

*Side note Like seriously, shut up Elton, we still remember who you are, why rain on Gaga’s parade only now?*

Simple Steps To Singleton-Fabulous

Posted in Uncategorized on June 6, 2012 by touchofsuave

Being single is not anything to be ashamed about in our age! We live in a time when most relationships break up and there is no guarantee that even the best ones will last. In the meantime, there is much to enjoy in life, and singleness has a great many benefits that those couples you envy would give an arm or a leg for!

«««—Steps To Singleton-Fabulous—»»»

(Tips and Warnings)

Take charge of your reality and give up all that envy! Stop worrying about everyone else around you getting into relationships, and thinking that you need to as well. All those happy couples in movies and TV shows are the fabrications of Hollywood writers designed to sell tickets and get high TV ratings. Real couples have messy lives—they fight, leave the bathroom dirty and steal the remote from each other. Give up those unrealistic fantasies of your ‘soulmate’, and notice how most people around you are just regular folk – good people, but not magical heroes who fix each others’ lives.

«— Let’s —»

• Focus on becoming the best person you can be. Take classes, work out, grow a garden, do volunteer work, go to therapy, do whatever your heart desires. Remember that everything you do should be for you! High self confidence will attract more friends and maybe in the long run even a little romance. (Once you become the person you like, though, you may be less willing to compromise what’s important for romance.)

• Concentrate on yourself and figure out what you like and don’t like. Make plans with friends that you haven’t seen in a while. Take a nice, hot bath. Read a book, or walk the dog. Take time for yourself, and don’t sweat finding someone. You can’t go on looking for love, love has to find you.

• Indulge yourself. Go out and get your nails done, have a spa day or get a massage. Just because you don’t have someone to impress or please doesn’t mean you should stop pleasing yourself. You are a strong, independent person who deserves the best. So give it to yourself!

• Play the field. Go out and have fun. Go out to clubs with your friends. Dance and flirt with others if you like. Don’t be afraid to give or take phone numbers, just realize that nothing may come of it.

• Don’t take the above advice to mean that you should go for every piece of ass out there. You have a reputation to uphold, and a promise to your mind, body and soul to take care of you. You don’t need another person to make you feel special.

• Realize that you are still lucky and fortunate. Many people around the world are either: chronically ill, homeless, living in poverty, starving, fleeing from warfare, and have no personal freedoms due to dictatorships. If you are depressed and think you are not lucky because you are single, think again!. People in those aforementioned conditions have it harder than you!

• Take up a new hobby! Learn guitar, join a tap class, grow a garden, write a novel, cook some gourmet meals! Whatever you’ve ever wanted to do, do it now. Trying something new can lead to new skills, friendships, and self esteem.

• Look in the mirror. Say things that you like about yourself. Repeat phrases to yourself such as “I am a strong, and beautiful individual” and tell your reflection that you love you. You need to know that you cannot expect others to make you happy. You are the only person who can make you happy in the end.

• Become an optimist. This is a trait that helps you whether you are single, married, divorced or widowed! Keep a gratitude diary and every night think of 3 things you are grateful for. Find the silver lining in everything throughout your day, and savor little pleasures. You’ll live longer, make it through tough times more smoothly, and even avoid the common cold more often!
